Machu Picchu nature's beauty showcased

Cusco (Cusco region), Jul. 7. Comprised in the set of celebrations for Machu Picchu's 35th Anniversary, State-run National Service of Natural Protected Areas (Sernanp) opened the "Nature Alive" photo exhibit in the Imperial City.

The event hosts a representative exhibition of biological wildlife hosted in the natural protected area.

The historical sanctuary shelters vast natural diversity and is refuge to threatened fauna and flora varieties, highly relevant to science.

The exhibit showcases images of the extraordinary biodiversity found in the area, composed of 75 mammal species, such as spectacled bears, white-tailed deer and river otters.

As is known, the site is also home to 443 bird varieties accounting for 23.1% of Peruvian birdlife; 16 amphibian species, 4 of which are currently in danger; as well as 25 reptile and 365 butterfly types.

The event presents animals found across the Inca Road Network and Machu Picchu LLaqta.

It will run until July 15th at Banco de La Nacion's El Quijote Museum located on El Sol Ave. Cusco.
